Kristy has been with our office since September 2011. She has been in the dental industry for over 20 years. Kristy handles all of our insurance benefits and claims for our office - we are thrilled for her to be a part of our team. She lives in Sherwood with her husband Todd, son Wyatt and their two corgi dogs Ryder and Lili.
Danielle received her Dental Hygiene degree from Carrington College in 2012. She feels the best way to treat her patients is to stay current with different methods for the best at-home tools and to provide excellent service with a variety of treatments. She’s a strong believer in continued education and enjoys participating in study clubs and CE courses.
She’s enjoyed getting to know all of her patients over the past 3 years at Hawaiian Smiles, and she especially loves helping patients who are nervous and may have extreme sensitivity. She finds ways to ensure they have a very comfortable experience. Her best compliment is when her patients tell her that she was extremely thorough and the didn’t feel a thing!
She’s married with a 6-year-old son and a dog, Layla. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She also enjoys reading, going to the Coast, and going to the movies.
Emilee received her training at Mt. Hood Community College, and she’s proud to be a third generation dental professional. She’s been working as a hygienist since 2007, and she loves being part of team whose goal is to make people’s smiles happier.
She enjoys spending time outside with her two sons and husband. In the summer they head to the coast as often as possible, and in the winter they head to the mountains as often as possible. As a family they also enjoy spending time volunteering in a ministry work.
Heather received her Dental Hygiene degree from Indiana University in 2010. She is now in the process of completing her Master's Degree in Dental Hygiene from Idaho State University. She is involved with her professional association, with the belief that collaboration among hygienists will help in the progression of the profession to reach more underserved populations. Heather strongly believes in assessing each patient individually to reach optimal oral health. She wants to work with you and make you comfortable during your time with her.
Aside from working with Dr. Shafer, she is an instructor at Pacific University. She enjoys sharing her passion for dental hygiene by instructing students. She is new to Oregon and still exploring all the wonderful things the state has to offer. In her free time she enjoys hiking, tennis, board games, crafts, and watching movies.
Expanded Function Dental Assistant
Nanette has been trained as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant, and also has a BA in Management and Organizational Leadership from George Fox University. She has 23 years of experience, and loves helping with treatment and educating our patients.
Her favorite therapy is quilting. She also loves the outdoors and enjoys camping, fishing, and walks with her dog, Joe.
Nicole graduated from Portland Community College in December 2016 with an Associate of Arts degree. Her favorite part of working at Hawaiian Smiles is building relationships with our clients while watching the medicine and science that goes into dentistry.
When she's not at work, she enjoys adventuring out into nature on hikes and camping trips with friends and family. Born and raised in Oregon, Nicole trades her outdoor gear for art supplies when the rainy winters come, as she's also very fond of drawing and painting.
