-- Crowns --
Porcelain: Our office primarily uses an all porcelain material, as this provides the most natural looking crown. However, they may not be as strong if one tends to grind their teeth, or are hard on their teeth.
Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM): These crowns are typically used for patients who need a stronger tooth surface. With this type of crown, the porcelain will surround metal, which will provide for a stronger more durable base.
Full gold crown (FGC): Full gold crowns can withstand biting and chewing very well and will probably last longer, in terms of wear down. Metal crown rarely chip or break. The color is the main drawback.
